What is it?
You may have heard of VDSL or NGA (next generation access) that is being rolled out to the country by BT offering very high speed broadband connections of up to 40 Mbs/s. Unfortunately, only certain areas will be able to receive this service and a lot of areas that still can't get good quality broadband will not see any improvement. The rollout involves running optical fibre to the street cabinets (FTTC) and this is a time consuming and expensive process that will take some years to complete, with certain areas never being upgraded.
This is where Attend 2 Ltd comes in.
Instead of laying Fibre to the Cabinet we will link wirelessly to it, this is much quicker to set up and once we are at a cabinet we are in a unique position of being able to supply the whole area with VDSL on their existing phone line. Amazingly, properties unable to receive ADSL at the moment will now be able to get VDSL as it is the distance from the local cabinet and not the exchange that governs the service. This still means distance plays a part and people living far from the cabinet will suffer a drop in line speed (and price!). It is antcipated 80% of people will receive over 20Mbs/s.
What’s on offer?
Currently this is in its trial/concept stage. We are currently looking at Street Cabinets in our existing coverage area (or close to it) to find out how viable the connections will be, then running test connections to certain properties to check the reliability of the new service.
We don't currently have price plans in place yet but, in line with our wireless offerings, we will be as transparent as possible. Unlike other providers, we will only charge people for what they can get / want. If you can only get 20Mb/s then that's all we will charge you for. We don't believe in charging you for what you can't get.

What Areas are covered?
Currently we are trialling the system and looking for sutiable cabinets. Check out our existing coverage map to see where we will be starting. This trial won’t take long and we will be expanding soon. Most of the earlier cabinets to be activated will be in the South East as this is where our existing wireless network is but please sign up your interest and we will let you know when we are coming to your area. Obviously the more people that sign up to VDSL will increase the chances that we pick a particular cabinet. It is important to note that this is separate to the BT FTTC upgrades, we won’t be using fibre to get to the cabinets so cabinets they deem difficult may be much easier for us to get to.
